Integrailsm Announces A New Five-Year Contract Agreement with Symmetry
IntegrailSM Provides Information Management Services to Healthcare Providers
Albany, NY (April 4, 2001) Integrailsm (formerly Mercatus), a leading developer of health information management software, announced today that it will continue its partnership with Symmetry Health Data Systems, Inc., a leading health care analytic software developer. A five-year contract has been signed between the two organizations.
Integrail develops clinical and financial decision support solutions that merge and transform medical and pharmacy data into the information necessary to better manage health care resources. Using Symmetry's patented Episode Treatment Grouping (ETG) methodology, Integrail's profiling tools adjust for patient morbidity, gauge physicians' practice efficiency, and clinically categorize patients and patterns of health care services. Integrail's flagship product, Pathfinder, helps health care organizations uncover trends and cost-drivers. Integrail's clients include managed care organizations, risk-bearing provider groups, employer groups and pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device manufacturers.
Symmetry's patented ETG methodology is an illness classification and episode chronology software product currently used by more than 350 managed health care plans and their providers across the U.S. ETG software captures all clinically relevant services and prescriptions provided during a patient's treatment, and organizes the data into episodes of care. ETGs serve as analytical units to measure and compare financial performance, health care demand, provider treatment regimens and numerous other disease management and outcome management strategies.
"Integrail has worked with Symmetry for the past five years. We have enjoyed the continual improvements made to the ETG system and are looking forward to five more great years, " said Dominick Bizzarro, executive vice president for Integrail. "The ETG building blocks are extended by Pathfinder's analytical utility offering an easy to use decision support interface with a flexible and powerful data mart underneath." "We're pleased that Integrail has extended its confidence in ETGs with this five-year contract extension," said Mitchell Portnoy, Symmetry's co-founder and COO. "Integrail has a well deserved reputation as an organization which delivers a sound analytical product delivered atop a stable technical solution."
Integrail deploys their software applications through a Solution Service Provider (SSP) model and supports each licensee with analytical support hours to ensure a thorough, timely and cost effective solution. All clients receive competent training and support services through web-based technology providing clients greater flexibility, increased response time and reduced human resource costs.
